Burleigh Heads is a long right hand point break that works best around 6ft. With plenty of rocks around you need to watch where you wipeout. It is a break for the more intermediate to experienced surfer, consisting of a long heavy dredgy barrel that continues sometimes 300m to the shoreline. When the rest of the coast is closing out Burleigh offers a bit more protection to get pitted. You can jump off the point but beware of slippery rocks or paddle out from the sandy beach. When the swell is really big a strong sweep pulls along the point and for those chargers its easiest to paddle round from Tallebudgera rivermouth. Not every section always links up but it is still good enough to get some healthy tube time!
