Vertical drops with a small take off zone that is often crowded means Chinamans is only for the advance surfer. Located in the Yorke Peninsula it’s an exposed reef break with reliable surf working most of the year round. NW winds combined with a SW groundswell provide ideal conditions with left being best, but also rights on offer. Be careful getting in and out as the rocks are shallow and sharp but the barrel is worth it! You want to really know what you’re doing out there and if you’re only at that intermediate level then try Baby Chinamans, a softer wave just east of the main break.
