Currumbin is a classic right hand point break offering a wave for all levels with beginners on the inside closer into the rivermouth and the experts surfing off the point. Also known as “The Alley” it is well sheltered from any howling SE winds. A SE swell and SW winds work best. In bigger swells watch out for the strong rip that sweeps north up the beach and makes the paddle out a difficult one. It’s easier to paddle out off the rock point or on the other side of the point from the beach break just south.
An excellent longboard beach on flat days however on the bigger waves can be extremely long with varying sections.
