Surf Spot
A great longboard wave most of the year round, and easy to pick up the waves with multiple sections that break along the rocky ledge. On the low tide Moffats offers a suckier bowl section, great for the more experienced surfers. If you do get stuck on the inside though be ware of the rocky ledge this wave breaks on because it is not always that friendly. An easy paddle out from the sandy beach or jump off from the rock point.
This spot is semi frequent for contests so just check what’s happening on the beach before paddling out into a competition zone. Moffats is usually a fun slower surging wave for big carves and hacks and easier to catch more waves on a board with superior volume. In bigger surf Moffats can provide a thrilling barrel and some great sections that can break over 200m.
Watch out you don’t drop in on anyone and you won’t have any trouble with the locals.
