Located around the Margaret River North region, Yallingup has a rocky bottom and a powerful fast wave. The left that is produced can be better for the mal, as the wave face is much fatter than the rights that on the perfect swell can produce fast hollow walls. Mellow waves come through in winter and it can get much more crowded in the summer here. Some of the more reliable clusters of reef/rock have their own names such as Rabbit Hill and Mousetrap. This place can fire all the way down to the learners peaks or the heavy Shorey on the inside of the right in front of the car park. The lefts run great on a southerly swell while a westerly swell generates a more peaky wave. Do keep an eye on the marine life as there have known to be shark sitings all along this coastline. There is a bit of localism here so you need to hold your position in the line-up and respect the locals.
